Ford To Release Free Power Upgrade For Its 2011 F-Series Super Duty Engine

We already have reported that Ford will be reclaiming the Power Diesel title by powering its 2011 F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks with an all-new 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel engine. In the same sequence there are reports that Ford will be releasing free power upgrade this week for their 2011 F-Series Super Duty’s 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel engine. The power upgrade will be coming through an update to the engine’s software. This update will raise the power level to a class topping 400 horsepower and 800 pounds-feet of torque. This boost will add a total enhancement of 10 hp and 65 pounds-feet and over the opening 390-hp (@ 2,800-rpm), 735 pounds-feet edition (@ 1,600-rpm) of the engine, which was proclaimed in February. Indian Pickup Manufacturer Coming To US

Ford And Mazda Puts $350 Million In Thai Pickup Plant

Two of the biggest auto makers in the world Mazda Motor Corp. (7261.TO) and Ford Motor Co. (F) are planning to put about $350 million in Thailand Pickup plant. This immense funding from the auto makers will definitely enhance and upgrade the support facility and supplier tooling for the manufacturing of pickup trucks in the Thai Pickup plant. According to the two auto makers the facility in the Thai Pickup truck plant will start manufacturing the Ford and Mazda’s next generation compact pickup trucks by mid 2011. Toyota Tundra Gets Rerated Towing Capacity in New SAE Guidelines

Cummins has developed around more than 20,000 midrange heavy-duty engines having Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust after treatment, as per the manufacturer specifications and the company is expecting to raise that number to 26,000 by the end of August. Mahindra Gets EPA Certification For Its Diesel Pickup

Amid plenty of ifs and buts, the Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra finally has received the authorized certification from the Environmental Protection Agency of USA for selling its compact diesel trucks in US. One of the EPA spokesperson reported that, “The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has just certified Mahindra. The certification is for their diesel pickup trucks for the model year 2011.” Getting the Emissions certification was one of the biggest obstacle in front of Mahindra and their American distributor, Global Vehicles USA.
