Silhouette

The 2009 GMC Sierra 3500HD  is available in three body configurations and two rear axle designs viz. regular cab, extended cab and crew cab with the option of single or dual rear wheels. All the Sierra 3500 HD editions are equipped with eight foot long cargo bed.

This edition offers a visually distinctive body structure in comparison to its Chevy cousins and other Sierra models. This edition offers very unambiguous styling with imposing headlamps and hood along with a more prominent grille opening.  General Motors have made perceptible changes in the overall fit and finish of tits body panel. The body has been designed with less space between the cab and cargo box for a smoother design. All models are dressed in chrome bumpers with fog lamps set into the bumpers to offer an upscale appearance.

Inside the cabin

The 2009 GMC Sierra 3500 HD features two different interior designs designed according to the trim level. The Work truck and the SLE edition features basic but functional dash design with an open lower centre portion to seat three people on the front bench. On the other hand the premium SLT trim is clad in a layout similar to the GMC Yukon SLT SUV. The SLT trim sports a classy centre stack design dressed in high-quality materials and wood and metallic accents.

The controls are straightforward and easy to reach on both the trims. However, we felt that dual-zone climate controls are small and difficult to operate with gloves

The interiors are spacious with comfortable seating. The rear seats can also comfortably seat adult passengers. We noted that the tilt only steering is situated very close to the dash which would be inconvenient for tall drivers.
