The 2010 Chevrolet Suburban priced at MSRP $40,635 – $55,625 is a workhorse with capacity of a truck and looks of a car. This edition is well designed to cater to all individuals looking for a traditional full size SUV with a right blend of passenger and cargo towing capacity.

The 2010 Chevrolet Suburban has reduced the trims and dropped the 2LT trim levels. It also adds important features such as front side airbags and new audio system with a standard USB port.

The 2010 Chevrolet Suburban is a well designed user friendly truck with a bulging power hood that enhances the front look of this edition. The curves at the corners of the windows give it an appealing exterior look to this edition.

This Chevy edition is available in 1500 and heavy duty 2500 models.

Inside the cabin

The 2010 Chevy Suburban has impressive interiors which are designed using good quality materials. This edition has roomy interiors and can comfortably seat nine passengers. It offers immense cargo space also. It offers a cargo capacity of 137.4 cubic feet which is larger when compared to Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia.The second row seats sport power folding feature while the third row seats need to be manually removed to make space for additional cargo.

2010 Chevrolet Suburban Powertrain

The 2010 Chevy Suburban 1500 version  is powered by  5.3 liter  V8 engine that would generate  320 horsepower and 335 pounds feet of torque while the  2500 versions is powered by more burly 6.0 liter V8 engine that produces 352 horsepower and  382 pounds feet of toque.

Both the engines are teamed with six speed automatic transmission and offer an option of rear wheel drive or four wheel drive.

The Chevy Suburban 2500 when fully equipped can tow approximately 9,600 pounds. It sprints from zero to 60 mph in less than 9 seconds. It was noted that the cabin is quiet and there was no outside noise that can be heard inside the cabin. This Chevy edition also offers a comfortable ride even on bumpy roads.

Features of 2010 Chevrolet Suburban

The 2010 Chevrolet Suburban is available in three trims LS, and mid level LT and premium LTZ edition.

The base LS edition will feature 17 inch wheels, power driver seat, full power accessories, side assist steps, dual zone climate control; rear seat air conditioning steering wheel mounted audio control, eight speaker audio system with CD player and satellite radio, auxiliary audio port and USB jacks.

The midlevel LT trim further includes  power front bucket seats, power adjustable pedals, fog lamps, tri zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, remote vehicle start, rear parking assist, luggage rack rails, a locking rear differential, rear audio system with  two headphone jacks, upgraded Bose audio system with  a six CD changer and Bluetooth.

The premium LTZ trim features  20inch alloy wheels, premium leather upholstery power folding second row seats, rain sensing wipers, upgraded heated and cooled front seats, Auto ride  rear air suspensions, auto dimming rear view mirror and an upgraded ten speaker Bose audio system.

The Chevy Suburban also offers option of 22 inch  wheels, navigation system, power retracting  running board, sun roof, rear view camera, rear seat  DVD entertainment system, off road package, heavy duty  tow package.

2010 Chevrolet Suburban Safety

The 2010 Chevrolet Suburban sports  safety features such as front seat side airbags,  three row side curtain airbags, stability control, GM’s OnStar  emergency  communication system, and a rollover sensor. The premium LTZ trim adds blind spot warning system in the list of safety features.

During the various tests that were conducted to check the efficiency of this Chevy edition scored five stars for passenger protection in frontal impacts.

Conclusion

The 2010 Chevy Suburban is a crossover SUV with traditional body on frame truck chassis. The main highlights of this edition are comfortably seating of nine passengers, impressive cargo hauling capacity, smooth V8 engine, comfortable ride and a host of standard features included in this edition. The main drawbacks that can be noted are third row seat is bulky and does not easily fold forward and acceleration is sluggish under full load.
