2010 GMC Terrain Styling

Posted in Trucking News on December 25, 2009

The 2010 GMC Terrain is a newly introduced SUV and the company’s first venture in the compact crossover market.  This edition is a deviation of the Chevy Equinox designed with the looks of the Yukon Denali. The designers have crafted this edition with a massive chrome grille which enhances the front facade.

We felt that the designers are too used to designing larger SUVs and hence mismatched the front fascia. The top of the grille features a huge chrome lip which looks very flashy. The fog lamps are surrounded by over sized chrome surrounds which does not blend well with the rest of the body style.

The side dimensions reveal small doors and short stumpy roof rack. The designers have not been very successful in designing a very impressive vehicle.  The square and bloated wheel flares does not offer an imposing look. The sides of this edition look visually clustered with bright work around window openings, side mirrors and door handles.

The rear end is also very disappointing with oblong lights which are also not properly scaled to fit with smaller taillights. The chrome piece over the license plate makes an unimpressive appeal for this vehicle.

Overall the styling is quite mediocre and needs a little update to achieve its exclusivity. However, there are many people who would keep their eyes closed and not observe the styling and yet buy this edition for its performance.
