The 2010 jeep Liberty Renegade priced from $23,255 onwards is designed to cater to all those individuals who are in need of a compact SUV with a good towing ability. This edition competes with Toyota FJ cruiser, Nissan Xterra and Jeeps own Wrangler edition.

The 2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade will feature fold flat front passenger seat, heated mirrors, and active front head restraints. The Limited edition trim will also feature power heated front seats, leather upholstery, and Bluetooth.

Inside the cabin

The 2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade is quite roomy and features flat seats which are not very comfortable. It has been designed with good quality materials but still fails to impress the buyers when compared to its competitors. This edition offers adequate storage space with 31.5 cubic feet, the seat back folds forward s to create an additional storage space. The controls and gauges are well placed and easy to use.

2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade Powertrain

The 2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade is powered by 3.7 liter V6 engine that pumps out 210 horsepower and 235 pounds feet of torque.

It is teamed with four speed automatic transmission. It offers the option of rear wheel drive or four wheel drive option.

This edition when fully equipped with can tow up to 5,000 pounds. It was seen that this brawny edition sprints from zero to 60 mph in 9.5 seconds.

It offers an estimated fuel economy of 16 mpg city levels, 22 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined on rear wheel drive which is not very impressive. The four wheel drives offers 15 mpg city levels, 21 mpg highways and 17 mpg combined.

The 2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade is available in two trims Sport and Limited edition.

The Sport edition is equipped with 16 inch alloy wheels, full power accessories, a fold flat front passenger seat, air conditioning, automatic headlamps, keyless entry, heated mirrors and a six speaker stereo with a CD player an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. It optionally offers Popular Equipment Group which further adds cargo cover, fog lamps, upgraded cloth upholstery, roof rails, cruise control and rear privacy glass.

The Limited trim features Sport Popular Equipment Group along with 17 inch wheels, an auto dimming rear view mirror, leather upholstery, power heated front seats, Bluetooth and an eight speaker Infinity audio system with controls mounted on the steering wheels. The Limited trim offers the option of 18 inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, and a hard drive based navigation system with real time traffic, rear parking sensors, and digital music storage and a USB jack.

The Sport and the Limited edition also offer the option of Towing Package which includes a sun roof and the SKY Slider full open cloth roof.

2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade Safety

The 2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade is equipped with various safety features like side curtain airbags, active front head restraints, antilock disc brakes, stability control and electronic roll mitigation.

During the various crash tests that were conducted this edition scored a complete five stars in both frontal and side impact crash worthiness.

Conclusion

The 2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade is a compact SUV with a muscular body and impressive off road abilities and towing capacity. The major drawbacks that were noted are poor fuel economy, sluggish V6 engine, subpar interior material quality, outdated four speed  automatic transmission and sloppy on road handling.
