2011 Chevy Silverado HD debuts at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show

Looking at the tough competition offered by Ford and other brands, General Motors decided to update their existing line of trucks. The update vehicles generally feature a new impressive body style, improved powertrain and better chassis to offer improved performance. But in heavy duty vehicles there are not many buyers who pay emphasis on the exterior look of the vehicle. Keeping this thought in mind General Motors have decided to update their 2011 Silverado with out making many changes on the exterior body.

The 2011 Chevy Silverado features similar looks like its earlier edition except that they have added chrome front bumpers, 17 inch wheels and a revised hood with a Duramax hood badge. The highlight of this new edition is that it is built on a fully boxed frame instead of a full length C channel.

Chevy has upgraded their rear suspensions with offset leaf springs that would enhance the quality of drive of the vehicle.

The new edition offers a perfect combination of Duramax diesel and Allison automatic transmission they have added bigger radiators to keep everything cool. The engines have also received significant upgrades to offer a good performance. It is expected that this brawny vehicle will fetch a maximum payload of 6,300lbs.which is much better than its competitors.

It is expected that their burly engine would offer an impressive fuel economy of 18.8 mpg on highways.

If these figures are to be believed then the new 2011 Chevy Silverado HD edition would move ahead in this competitive auto market.
