Early Look: 2010 Lincoln Mark LT

The spy cameras were able to capture a quick peep of the new 2010 Lincoln Mark LT edition.  The Mark LT edition tasted success in the Mexico territory whereas lackluster sales led to the removal of this edition from Lincoln’s line up in 2008.

The company planned to continue production of this burly edition to cater to the demands of the Mexico buyers.  They company addressed to only those individuals who were willing to pay a premium for this brand name.  They offered the buyers in Mexico the option of MKZ, MKS, MKX, and Navigator.

Mark Schirmer, a spokesman from Lincoln confirmed that the company had sold approximately 6,000 units in Mexico from the time it was launched in 2005 and the U.S market accounted for only 5% of the total sales.

The American buyers are more satisfied with the 2009 Ford F-150, 2010 Ford F-150 platinum Edition. Schirmer added that Lincoln is empathizing on MKZ and MKT edition in the US. They lay their focus mainly on cars and crossovers rather than pick up trucks for the US market.

The 2010 Mark LT edition will be powered by the Lobo’s 5.4 liter V8 engine that will generate 310 horsepower and 365 pounds feet of torque. This edition offers a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds and can haul up to 1,695 pounds. This brute also offers the option of regular bed size (5.5 foot) or long bed (6.5 foot cargo bed).

The cabin is well designed with opulent leather seats Sony audio system, Sync infotainment system, and ambient lighting in the cup holder and foot wells.

The 2010 Mark LT is well equipped with basic safety features such as Ford’s front and side airbags, a reinforced roof , antilock disc brakes and electronic stability system with rollover mitigation.

The retail price of this edition is not yet known however, it is conformed that the company has started production of this edition at Ford’s Dearborn truck plant in Michigan.
