Posted in Ford Trucks, Truck Reviews on March 16, 2010
Pros:
Among handful of improvements in 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty some that impressed us the most includes, outstanding fuel economy, unchanged price even for the new 6.7-liter diesel engine option, telescoping steering wheel and the availability of Six-speed automatic transmission for both, the diesel and petrol engines.
Cons:
Almost unchanged looks and unless you aren’t looking at it head on, you cant tell that it’s the new 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty, the 6.2-liter V-8 gasoline doesn’t feel as powerful as the old 6.8-liter V-10 engine and needs better enhanced power and brake feel to handle increased loading and hauling.
Introduction:
The 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty is available in three body styles of extended cab, regular cab and crew cab and four trim levels of base XL, off-road-oriented 4WD-only FX4, plush Lariat and midlevel XLT. So the buyers this time will have wider range of options to choose from and the best thing is that most of the body styles and trim levels can be customized further.
The primary reason why Ford has got such immense reputation in this niche segment is that, Ford has presented an astonishing range of body styles, trim levels and power train options for the buyers. The latest entry from Ford is the 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty. This is the boost that the pickup truck buyers always have been asking for and if you also have been asking for it then have a look at this Ford F-250 Super Duty review and you will have your greed satisfied.
Engine Choice:
The 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty gets its power from three different engine
choices. The first choice the buyers have is the standard 2 valve 6.2-liters V-8 engine generating maximum power of 385 horsepower and maximum torque of 405 pounds-feet running on gas this is an upgrading to old 5.4-liter V8 engine. But it’s the 4-valve 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel engine, which is creating buzz among buyers by generating maximum power of 390 hp and staggering 735 pounds-feet of maximum torque. The last engine option that it will have is the 6.7-liter V-8 engine which will be introducing the diesel exhaust fluid for reducing the dangerous nitrogen oxide emissions.
Performance:
With such immensely engines pumping under the hood of 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty the performance shouldn’t be a question at all, but still if you want to know the performance of 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty then keep in mind that this is way more advanced than the 2010 Ford F-250 and the Ford engineers has done an immaculate work in making it. With immense towing capacity and telescoping steering wheel for controlled movement of the truck, the 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty makes towing and hauling an effortless task. The actual performance for 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty will be known once the truck hits the streets in practical environment and even we are waiting to see how the 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine performs.
Verdict:
The only thing we can say about the 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty is that the Ford engineers have eliminated even the minors of flaw we had in 2008-10 rigs and by starting the all new 6.7-liter V-8 Power Stroke diesel we surely can expect improved and even smoother performance from the 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty.
