Jeep introduces Renegade at the 2010 Detroit Show

Jeep presented three new models at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show which is designed on the lines of the Liberty and Wrangler off roader. The Liberty Renegade model made its debut in 2002 but vanished after Liberty was redesigned in 2007.

The 2010 Liberty Renegade is designed to impart a robust look and augment its off road prowess. It will be seen in exclusive  exterior shades of  Salsa Red Pearl Coat exterior, Deep water Blue pearl coat, Natural green  pearl coat, Bright silver metallic clear coat, Stone white clear coat and Brilliant Black Crystal pearl coat.

The revamped Renegade edition would undergo minor cosmetic changes and would offer a new look. It will feature painted mineral gray keystone 16 inch wheels, dark neutral metallic wheel flares, lower side sills, front and rear fascia, body side molding and rear license plate bar, satin black vinyl hood graphics, deep tint glass, fog lamps, black headlamp bezel, skid plates and tow hooks.

The interior cabin has also been refreshed with new premium cloth seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped centre console, shift knob, soft door armrest, cruise control, security alarm, rear cargo cover, steering wheel mounted radio controls and premium Electronic  Vehicle Information centre (EVIC)

This edition features the Selec- Trac II active four wheel drive system. This system offers an advantage of a fully electronic two speed active transfer case and Brake traction control System. This system foresees a wheel slip and accordingly redirects the torque which helps while driving in squally weather or for off roading.

The 2010 Renegade will be powered by 3.7 liter V6 engine which would produce 210 horsepower and 235 pounds feet of torque.

This edition also features 4WD Auto and 4WD Low mode. The 4WD Auto is ideally designed for full time driving and this system uses vehicle sensors to adjust and redirect torque between front and rear axles in accordance to real time driving conditions.

The 4WD Low mode is used for added capability when traversing rough terrain, steep grades, or poor traction surfaces.

Overall all Jeep Liberty model buyers can experience a good ride in open air with the help of full length open canvas roof.
