Sneak Preview: 2011 Kia Sportage

There are various images of the next gen Kia Sportage that have been captured by spy photographers. This edition has received a significant update from the 2009 edition; however images reveal that an entirely new version of the crossover is in the pipeline. The company has not divulged much detail about their new endeavor, but the images depict that this new refurbished edition will pick up coupe like styling cues. There is very little information about this new edition; however it is expected that it will be powered by four cylinder engine and will be paired with new six speed transmission in both manual and automatic transmission. There are doubts whether it will be equipped with a V6 or a V8 engine. The current Kia Sportage edition sports a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine that generates 140 horsepower with an option of 2.7 liter V6 engine  [...]

Mitsubishi contemplates Triton production in America

Mitsubishi is going through a rough space in their business venture. They have still to come up with the last year recession that hit the automotive industry badly. Seeing the last years sales figure it was seen that Mitsubishi’s sales in the U.S dropped by 44.8 %   They sold an estimated number of only 53,986 cars and trucks last year. Mitsubishi’s US manufacturing plant in Normal, Illinois is manufacturing cars below its normal capacity. It is known that this plant held a capacity to manufacture 24,000 cars per year when it had a joint venture with Chrysler. However last year this plant manufactured only 18,501 vehicles. Mitsubishi is working out ways to over come this rough patch. The only solution that lies ahead would be to introduce the Triton pick up trucks in the US. 2011 GMC Acadia Denali launched at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show

GMC unveiled the 2011 Acadia Denali at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. GMC has boastfully announced the adding of Acadia to its exclusive line of Denali vehicles. The GMC Denali edition resembles luxury and exclusivity and this is what appeals the most to its buyers. This edition will comfortably seat seven to eight passengers. The 2011 GMC Acadia Denali ‘s bodyline will be dressed in monochrome fascias and cladding, chrome grilles, chrome accents, xenon headlamps, and special 20 inch chromed wheels with black chrome centers. It will be available in five exterior colors quick silver metallic, carbon black, summit white, white diamond tricoat, and red jewel tint coat. The inner cabin will be equipped with perforated leather heated and cooled front seats, mahogany  steering wheel, dual sunroof, head up display, tri zone climate control ,chromed  [...]

The 2010 Detroit Show witnesses the debut of Walter P. Chrysler Signature Series

Chrysler is known to be a leader for the past 26 years in the minivan engineering and design with its popular Town and Country series. To commemorate this occasion the American manufacturer unveiled the 2010 Chrysler Town and Country Walter P. Chrysler Signature Series at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. The Signature series will be powered by a 3.8 liter V6 engine and will be teamed with six speed automatic transmission. The exterior silhouette would be painted in an all new Deep Cherry Red Pearl Coat exterior paint, fascia accents, body side moldings, seven spoke 17 inch platinum chromed aluminum wheel, chromed belt and roof rack with cross bars. The Walter P. Chrysler Signature Series front door badging would be the main highlight of this edition. 2010 GMC Granite Concept debuts at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show

General Motors unveiled the new crossover concept GMC Granite at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. This edition might be a concept at the auto show but a similar vehicle known as the 2011 Orlando is already set to adorn the showroom windows in short span of time. It is rumored that General Motors has plans to start sales of the Granite edition by 2012.  The company has plans to introduce this edition as the smallest GMC vehicle ever introduced. This edition is two feet shorter than the GMC Terrain with a wheel base of 103.6 inches and is 60.5inches tall and 70.3inches wide. The Granite edition would be powered by 1.4 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine which would generate 138 horsepower. It will be teamed with a rotation shifted six speed automatic transmission. 2010 Dodge Nitro debuts at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show

Dodge has unveiled three special edition of the Nitro at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. The three editions will be known as the Heat, Detonator, and Shock . The Detonator will feature 20 inch wheels, tinted glass, remote start, park assist, color keyed interior accents, and an audio system with eight premium speakers, and nine inch subwoofer. The highlight of this edition is that this edition will feature a massively loud yellow color with gray stripes on the hood.. The Detonator will be powered by 4.0 liter V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower and 265 pounds feet of torque which is 23 percent more horsepower and an approximate 12 per cent more torque. The Detonator will be priced at $25,995. The Dodge Nitro would include U-connect phone, Sirius satellite radio, tinted glass, cruise control, and ipod controls as standard features across the  [...]

Early look: 2011 Lincoln MKX

The Lincoln MKX has been available for sales for the past four years and the updated edition was almost due.  The refurbished edition is now unveiled at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. The updated edition features new looks, more powerful V6 engine, and upgraded technology. The exterior body line is also intriguing with broad fender arches, new split wing corporate grille and rocker panels. The rear end features new taillights, and hidden rear parking sensors.  However, the new 18 inch and 20 inch wheels and larger exhaust tip enhances the overall look of this edition. The revamped edition will feature Ford’s latest 3.7 liter Duratec V6 engine. It will be paired with VVT on all of the camshafts which would deliver 305 horsepower and 280 pounds feet of torque which is 40 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque more than the earlier edition. 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser Couture edition debuts at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show

Chrysler unveiled the new 2010 PT Cruiser Couture edition to celebrate the American automotive heritage .The new edition is the updated version of the classic edition and features new levels of craftsmanship and exterior colors with painted fenders and high belt line painted in bright silver metallic while the roof line and its upper body is painted in brilliant black crystal pearl with accent red pinstripe. The exterior body line is dressed in 16 inch polished aluminum wheels and grille, chrome body moldings and door handles which enhances the overall look of this edition. The inner cabin offers continuity to this style with chrome detailed rings that highlight the gloss black instrument panels three gauges, Chrysler’s signature analog clock and rotating air vents. Mahindra may use Navistar’s facilities

Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. may use Navistar International Corp’s factories in the US to built its upcoming TR series pick up trucks. This would benefit Mahindra to avoid the chicken tax that is levied on pick up trucks that are produced in most countries outside the US. Pawan Goenka, president of Mahindra’s automotive division told WSJ that if they decide to assemble their pick up truck in the US they would consider Navistar’s facilities.  However the decision is expected by December. Mahindra has plans to start production of the TR series in India. These pick up trucks are expected to be available in the showroom by this spring. They will be sold by Mahindra US based distributor, Global Vehicle Inc. Navistar is known to build International brand commercial truck, IC bus vehicle, MaxxForce brand diesel engine, and  [...]

Chrysler to unveil jeep variants at the Detroit Auto Show

The automotive industry is full of news what each brand is going to unveil at the upcoming Detroit Show. There is news that Chrysler is going to unveil three new Jeep variants for all its loyal customers. It is expected that two of the variants would be familiar while the third concept would be an iconic off road brand. The Liberty Renegade which was launched in 2002 and then updated in 2007 disappeared from the Chrysler’s line up. They now plan to introduce iteration with an impressive burly look and imposing off road dexterity. Liberty Renegades will sport fog lamps, off road tires, tow hooks and skid plates. The exterior body line will be crafted with unique front and rear fascia, black headlamp bezels, body side moldings, and satin black vinyl hood graphics.
