The US Department of Transportation has confirmed that surface transportation trade among US; Canada and Mexico have seen a down ward trend of 24.9 % in comparison to last year. Reports claim that the figures have dropped to $ 54.3 billion. The truckers have also seen a decline in the sales of trucks in the US. The truck imports in the US dropped 19.8 % to $18.4 billion from a year earlier while exports decreased 16.1 % to $20.1 billion. However reports claim that the trade has seen an increasing trend from August and it rose 5.3% in comparisons to July figures. Surface transportation trade in Canada fell to $32.9 billion a sharp decline of 29.6%. The value of truck imports fell by 26.1% while exports declined by 17%.
