General Motors has announced at the national Bio diesel conference that their new edition diesel truck will feature B20 biodiesel capability. The B20 fuel offers a combination of 20 % bio diesel and 80% conventional diesel. This combination helps in lowering carbon dioxide emissions and reduces the dependence on petroleum. General Motors has revised their 6.6 liter turbo diesel engine to feature B20 capability. This new engine will also be designed to meet the new emission standards laid down by the government. The new Duramax will power the updated GMC Sierra heavy duty pick ups, 2011 Chevy Silverado, Chevrolet express and GMC Savana full size vans. Amidst all the ups and down faced by the automobile market, there is some bright news that has gained momentum. It has been reported that the Ford rolled out its 7,000,000th Ford Ranger in St Paul, Minnesota. In the earlier days Ford ranger was synonymous with stylish Ford’s F series pick up trucks. The Ford Ranger was launched in 1983 and was recognized as a small pick up truck that is fuel efficient. This edition would offer tough competition to its rivals like Toyota and Datsun. Over the span of twenty seven years, Ford ranger has undergone many changes which received mixed response from buyers. The Ford ranger was initially introduced as a simple two door full size truck which later was revamped. The updated Ford ranger offered options of different trims and cab styles. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has tested various compact pick up trucks for side impact crashes and rollover crashes and was not very satisfied with the results. The only truck to score ‘good’ scores was 2010 Nissan Frontier which is similar to the 2010 Suzuki Equator. It scored good scores for the roof crush protection while the second place was bagged by Ford Ranger with acceptable scores while Dodge Dakota, Chevrolet Colorado, and Toyota Tacoma scored low scores. The side impact crash tests also did not have makes takers for full scores. However, Nissan frontier, Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma scored good scores while the Colorado scored the lowest poor rating. Nissan faced a rough business phase last year with sales declining to 44.1 % from 2008. Nissan has now plans to update its Titan Light duty truck to take hold of the reclining sales. The plans will take some time to come into reality. It is expected that the updated edition will be available only by 2014. There are plans to improve the outer body of the truck with a unique frame parts but at the same time bear resemblance in the exterior and interior designs. However there are rumors that Nissan would continue with the existing 5.8 liter V6 engine and once the edition is launched would then work on an option for a more powerful powertrain performance. Jeep presented three new models at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show which is designed on the lines of the Liberty and Wrangler off roader. The Liberty Renegade model made its debut in 2002 but vanished after Liberty was redesigned in 2007. The 2010 Liberty Renegade is designed to impart a robust look and augment its off road prowess. It will be seen in exclusive  exterior shades of  Salsa Red Pearl Coat exterior, Deep water Blue pearl coat, Natural green  pearl coat, Bright silver metallic clear coat, Stone white clear coat and Brilliant Black Crystal pearl coat. The revamped Renegade edition would undergo minor cosmetic changes and would offer a new look. There are various images of the next gen Kia Sportage that have been captured by spy photographers. This edition has received a significant update from the 2009 edition; however images reveal that an entirely new version of the crossover is in the pipeline. The company has not divulged much detail about their new endeavor, but the images depict that this new refurbished edition will pick up coupe like styling cues. There is very little information about this new edition; however it is expected that it will be powered by four cylinder engine and will be paired with new six speed transmission in both manual and automatic transmission. There are doubts whether it will be equipped with a V6 or a V8 engine. The current Kia Sportage edition sports a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine that generates 140 horsepower with an option of 2.7 liter V6 engine  [...] 

Mitsubishi is going through a rough space in their business venture. They have still to come up with the last year recession that hit the automotive industry badly. Seeing the last years sales figure it was seen that Mitsubishi’s sales in the U.S dropped by 44.8 %   They sold an estimated number of only 53,986 cars and trucks last year. Mitsubishi’s US manufacturing plant in Normal, Illinois is manufacturing cars below its normal capacity. It is known that this plant held a capacity to manufacture 24,000 cars per year when it had a joint venture with Chrysler. However last year this plant manufactured only 18,501 vehicles. Mitsubishi is working out ways to over come this rough patch. The only solution that lies ahead would be to introduce the Triton pick up trucks in the US. GMC unveiled the 2011 Acadia Denali at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. GMC has boastfully announced the adding of Acadia to its exclusive line of Denali vehicles. The GMC Denali edition resembles luxury and exclusivity and this is what appeals the most to its buyers. This edition will comfortably seat seven to eight passengers. The 2011 GMC Acadia Denali ‘s bodyline will be dressed in monochrome fascias and cladding, chrome grilles, chrome accents, xenon headlamps, and special 20 inch chromed wheels with black chrome centers.
