2010 Dodge Nitro debuts at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show

Dodge has unveiled three special edition of the Nitro at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. The three editions will be known as the Heat, Detonator, and Shock . The Detonator will feature 20 inch wheels, tinted glass, remote start, park assist, color keyed interior accents, and an audio system with eight premium speakers, and nine inch subwoofer. The highlight of this edition is that this edition will feature a massively loud yellow color with gray stripes on the hood.. The Detonator will be powered by 4.0 liter V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower and 265 pounds feet of torque which is 23 percent more horsepower and an approximate 12 per cent more torque. The Detonator will be priced at $25,995. Early look: 2011 Lincoln MKX

The Lincoln MKX has been available for sales for the past four years and the updated edition was almost due.  The refurbished edition is now unveiled at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. The updated edition features new looks, more powerful V6 engine, and upgraded technology. The exterior body line is also intriguing with broad fender arches, new split wing corporate grille and rocker panels. The rear end features new taillights, and hidden rear parking sensors.  However, the new 18 inch and 20 inch wheels and larger exhaust tip enhances the overall look of this edition. The revamped edition will feature Ford’s latest 3.7 liter Duratec V6 engine. It will be paired with VVT on all of the camshafts which would deliver 305 horsepower and 280 pounds feet of torque which is 40 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque more than the earlier edition. 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser Couture edition debuts at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show

Chrysler unveiled the new 2010 PT Cruiser Couture edition to celebrate the American automotive heritage .The new edition is the updated version of the classic edition and features new levels of craftsmanship and exterior colors with painted fenders and high belt line painted in bright silver metallic while the roof line and its upper body is painted in brilliant black crystal pearl with accent red pinstripe. The exterior body line is dressed in 16 inch polished aluminum wheels and grille, chrome body moldings and door handles which enhances the overall look of this edition. The inner cabin offers continuity to this style with chrome detailed rings that highlight the gloss black instrument panels three gauges, Chrysler’s signature analog clock and rotating air vents. Mahindra may use Navistar’s facilities

Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. may use Navistar International Corp’s factories in the US to built its upcoming TR series pick up trucks. This would benefit Mahindra to avoid the chicken tax that is levied on pick up trucks that are produced in most countries outside the US. Pawan Goenka, president of Mahindra’s automotive division told WSJ that if they decide to assemble their pick up truck in the US they would consider Navistar’s facilities.  However the decision is expected by December. Mahindra has plans to start production of the TR series in India. These pick up trucks are expected to be available in the showroom by this spring. Chrysler to unveil jeep variants at the Detroit Auto Show

The automotive industry is full of news what each brand is going to unveil at the upcoming Detroit Show. There is news that Chrysler is going to unveil three new Jeep variants for all its loyal customers. It is expected that two of the variants would be familiar while the third concept would be an iconic off road brand. The Liberty Renegade which was launched in 2002 and then updated in 2007 disappeared from the Chrysler’s line up. They now plan to introduce iteration with an impressive burly look and imposing off road dexterity. Liberty Renegades will sport fog lamps, off road tires, tow hooks and skid plates. The 2010 Detroit Show is almost a week away but General Motors has boastfully released images of two new concepts that could be unveiled at the Cobe Hall. The new Urban Utility Concept is like a crossover vehicle which is smaller than the GMC Terrain and similar in size to the compact Scion xB. General Motors have designed this edition aiming at the younger generation of buyers. The designers have well crafted the Urban Utility Concept with a modern box design and fusing it with a flexible functional social space. They have well designed a modern look. Ford introduces MyFord interface system

The 2010 International Consumer Electronic show was the witness to a new system introduced by Ford which would connect drivers with in car technologies and their digital lives. The new interface system which is known as MyFord and is inspired by iPhone would combine a number of existing technologies like the Sync system into a single connected driver experience. This new system will be available in the vehicles from this year. It will be first seen on the 2011 Ford Edge edition and will be globally available on the 2012 Ford Focus. MyFord system utilizes a dual 4.2 inch LCD screen with five way button steering wheel controls and an 8 inch touch screen which will all be controlled by Sync voice commands. 2010 Mini Beach Comber goes topless at the 2010 Detroit Auto show

The 2010 Detroit show has witnessed the much awaited MINI crossover. The MINI Beach comber concept  has been designed on the lines of Mini Moke .The concept edition is excitingly topless without a roof and doors. The actual car that would be manufactured would feature doors and a roof unlike the concept which has been displayed at the Auto Show. The B posts have been removed from the concept car but will feature in the actual edition. The car’s body line is symmetrical left to right and conventionally front hinged. This beachcomber edition is the smallest crossover on sale yet the longest Mini with 160 inches. This Beach comber will be a five seater and will offer the option of four chair layout or will be available with a rear bench. 2010 Detroit Auto Show- 2010 Santa Fe

Hyundai is known to deliver significantly improved vehicles, to keep up this trend they have introduced the updated edition of the mid size crossover 2010 Santa Fe at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. Looking at the growing demand for crossover vehicles in the US Hyundai decided to update their edition to meet the demands of the customers. The updated edition will sport hi tech features and a powerful engine. The entry level 2.7 liter 4 cylinder engine has been swapped with a new Theta II 2.4 liter engine which would produce 175 horsepower and 169 pounds feet of torque. The new engine generates less power than its predecessor but the light weight of the four cylinder engine when teamed with a six speed automatic transmission offers a similar acceleration.
