Introduction of 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD
The 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD priced at MSRP $26,595 – $43,605 has been designed with all the basics that are expected of a utility truck. This edition has been designed to offer comfort and ride like a luxury sedan. This edition competes with Ford F 250 and Chevy Silverado 2500 HD but the GM trucks are more capable and offer an impressive interiors compared to its competitors.
What’s on offer?
The 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD is equipped with standard length cargo box and stability control on all 2500 HD models. This edition also receives the latest version of OnStar, which includes turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and the optional navigation system offers an available real-time traffic feature. Back up camera is now available as an optional feature on extended and crew cabs.
Silhouette
The 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD is available in three different body configuration viz. regular cab, extended cab and crew cab. Regular cabs come with a long bed while the crew cab and extended cab offers the option of standard or long bed.
This edition has a very resolute styling with impressive headlamps and hood along with a more pronounced grille opening. Its illustrious front fascia makes it visually distinct from the Chevy cousins and the GMC Sierra 1500 models. General Motors have made perceptible improvements in the overall fit and finish of the body panels. They have dressed all models in chrome bumpers for an upscale appearance. The body style has been crafted with less space between the cab and cargo box for a smoother design.
Overall, this edition has a very respectable and constructive silhouette.
Inside the cabin
The 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD offers a very similar interior theme like the one found in Sierra 1500. The WT and SLE trim sports a bare bone work truck features with an open lower centre portion to seat three person front bench. On the other hand the SLT trim is clad in a layout similar to the GMC Yukon SLT SUV. It has a classy centre stack design dressed in high-quality materials and wood and metallic accents.
The controls are straightforward and easy to reach on both the trims. However we felt that dual-zone climate controls are small and difficult to operate with gloves.
The interiors are quite spacious with comfortable seats. However the tilt only steering wheel is located very close to dash which makes it inconvenient for long legged or tall operators.

We noted that this edition offers a well weighted steering that gives the driver greater vehicle control.
Overall, this edition is equipped with rugged engines. The Duramax diesel makes an alluring choice with an excellent performance and decent fuel economy.
2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Safety
