Introduction of 2009 Toyota Tundra

The 2009 Toyota Tundra priced at MSRP $22,490 – $41,605 is a huge and rugged vehicle. It offers tough competition to established domestic models in this segment like Ford F150 and Chevy Silverado and is considered to be the perennial class best seller.  This edition offers the perfect equation of performance and functionality.

What’s on offer?

The 2009 Toyota Tundra offers a flex fuel version for the 5.7 liter V8 engine on the four wheel drive model. A special edition of TRD package (Sport and Rock Warrior) is now available in the 2009 edition.

Silhouette

The 2009 Toyota Tundra continues with its impressive exterior look with a prominent upright grille, flared wheel wells, and detailed headlamps. This edition is well portrayed with oversized vented bumper, a sculpted hood, and a huge three bar grille from the front while the side view is rather conventional.

The 2009 edition is available in three different body configurations, regular cab, Double cab or crew cab, and crew max which is really a big crew cab. The regular cab and the double cab sport a 6.5 foot or 8 foot bed while the crew cab comes with a 5.5 foot bed only.

Overall we can say that even though this edition looks good it does not have an original look , it has picked up styling cues from other domestic models.

Inside the cabin

The 2009 Toyota Tundra is very practical and stylish and offers spacious interiors. The regular cab also offers adequate interior cargo space and comfortable seats. The double is designed in a manner that can comfortably accommodate adult passengers on the backseat. The crew max as the name suggests maximum storage and seating space.

However we noted some of the flaws in the interior designs the gauges are situated in a manner which offers very little clarity. The audio controls are also placed in a manner which is also not easily accessible by the operator. The materials which are used to design the interiors are also very mediocre.
