The 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac is powered by 4.0 liter V6 engine which generates 210 horsepower and 254 pounds feet of torque. This burly engine is mated to five speed automatic transmission.

This Ford edition also offers the option of 4.6 liter V8 engine that produces 292 horsepower and 315 pounds feet of torque.  It is teamed with six speed automatic transmission.

All 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac editions sport a 2WD or 4WD except for the Adrenalin equipped models which substitute a full time all wheel drive system for dour wheel drive.

It was noted that the V8 engine sprints from zero to 60 mph in just over 8 seconds. When fully equipped this edition offers a maximum towing capacity of 7,160 pounds.

This edition offers a respectable fuel efficiency .The V6 two wheel drive editions offered 14/20/16 mpg city/ highway/ combined while the V8 offered 15/21/17. It was noted that the fuel efficiency for the 4WD models is identical.
