Spy Shots: Next gen Chevrolet Colorado
Posted in Chevrolet Trucks, Trucking News on March 9, 2010
There is news in the automotive market that Chevy is getting ready with an upgraded Colorado edition which will be launched very soon. The on lookers have witnessed the test mule on the streets at various occasions.
The spy photographers have also managed to capture images of the next generation Chevrolet Colorado pick up truck. This engineering mule was well camouflaged to hide its identity however it was very easy to identify this test mule. The next gen Chevy edition looks quite similar to the present Colorado edition.
It is expected that the main difference between the present edition and the next gen edition is that the new edition will sport a diesel engine. The current Chevy Colorado edition does not sport a diesel engine nor do they plan to introduce it for the current edition. The next gen edition shares its platform with Isuzu D-Max which is sold overseas and offers a diesel edition.
Its exterior body style is different with unique headlamps and bumpers. The images depict that the wheels are similar to those found in Isuzu D- Max. It looks like the next gen Colorado edition has picked up cues from the Isuzu D Max edition. The front styling of the nose has been picked up from Chevy Equinox crossover. Overall this truck is much larger then current Colorado edition.
General Motors plans to stop production of its trucks at its plant in Shreveport, Louisiana in USA. However they will continue production in Thailand. It is hence expected that the trucks will be produced and sold overseas.
The new Colorado edition will compete against Volkswagen Amarok, and the upcoming T6 Ford Ranger pick up and the existing models from Nissan, Toyota and Mitsubishi.
For more updates on this edition keep tuned and we will back with the latest updates.
