Introduction of 2010 Jeep Wrangler

The 2010 Jeep Wrangler priced at MSRP $21,165 – $32,050 is a rugged off roader. Its distinct styling and convertible top has increased its demand in the automotive segment. This edition competes against the Toyota FJ Cruiser, and the Nissan Xterra. Neither of its competitors offers removable doors and convertible roof which makes it the only one with a difference.

What’s on offer?

The 2010 Jeep wrangler adds easily removable soft tops, fog lamps, tow hook and a compass. The base edition replaces the cloth seats with vinyl seats while the other two trim features leather upholstery.

Silhouette

The 2010 Jeep Wrangler has an impressive classic Jeep styling. It exterior appearance has largely remained unchanged for many years. The highlight of this boxy edition has removable doors and convertible roof which is improved and easier to remove.

The 2010 Jeep Wrangler is available in two door and four door body configuration.

Overall all Jeep enthusiasts would love the classic styling of this edition.

Inside the cabin

The 2010 Jeep Wrangler can comfortably seat two passengers in the rear seat of the two door version while the Unlimited edition can seat three passengers. The Unlimited edition has abundant of cargo storage space when the second row seats are folded. However the soft top makes storage a risky affair.

The inside cabin is designed using hard plastic which is not very appealing a to a brawny edition which is accustomed to travel in dirt and muck.

Overall the interior cabin with better features would be appreciated.

2010 Jeep Wrangler Powertrain

The 2010 Jeep wrangler edition is powered by 3.8 liter V6 engine which generates 20 hp and 237 pounds feet of torque. It is teamed with six speed manual transmission and offers an option of four speed automatic transmission. This edition is available in four wheel drive system which includes high and low gears while the Unlimited trim offers the option of rear wheel drive.

Rubicon models have unique transfer case which offers extra low gearing to increase the off road ability. This edition sprints from zero to 60 mph in a leisurely 9.7 seconds. The four wheel drive system offer an estimated fuel economy of 15 mpg city levels, 19 mpg highway and 17 mpg combined while the rear wheel drives offers a fuel economy of 15/20/17 mpg.

During the various crash tests that were conducted this edition scored complete five stars in frontal impact protection.

Conclusion

The 2010 Jeep Wrangler is fun to drive in the city, has superior off road capability, availability of two and four versions, and offers an optional navigation system. The main drawbacks that were noted are noisy cabin, hard plastic interiors, and no front seat side airbags available in the standard features.
