Ford has decided to give commercial business around the country pre production models of their new edition 2011 Ford Super Duty on a test drive before this edition is actually launched in the market. This is the first time that such a field work evaluation program has been organized by any company. The company plans to display the results this week on www.fordvehicles.com/2011 super duty field work.
These muscular vehicles are tested on extreme conditions. The select customers who test drive the 2011 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F450 and F550 made them work in the sub zero wintry conditions of Wyoming, humid swamps of Florida, and dry areas of Texas construction sites and ranches.
The evaluation trucks are powered by the new 6.7 liter Power Stroke V8Turbocharged Diesel engine and mated to the 6R140 heavy duty TorqShift six speed automatic transmissions.
Ford Engineers are using advanced technology to get first hand information from the various customers and have simultaneously posted them on the website to offer first hand information about this brawny vehicle to all enthusiasts.
The responses that have been received from various customers who test drove this new edition are quite positive .One customer commented that “ The Truck sat in negative weather for several hours and then started up with no issues”.
Chris Bewer, Chief engineer of 2011 Ford Super duty trucks has stated that the early feed back that has been received from these customers who used this vehicle in extreme conditions is very important for the company. He added that they have never undertaken something so ambitious in testing their trucks. Chris Bewer boastfully stated that sharing pre produced units with customer s to use in hard condition proves the confidence that we have on our engineered vehicles.
All auto enthusiasts who wish to buy the 2011 Super Duty Truck will have to wait till spring when it will be available in the showrooms. Meanwhile the 2010 Ford Super Duty Truck which dominates the heavy vehicle segment is easily available. The 2010 edition is designed with an impressive towing capacity of 24,000 pounds. The 2010 Ford truck is also a good bet if you do not wish to wait until spring.
